Datavail to Present at DBTA Data Summit Conference

NEW YORK – May 7, 2015 – Datavail will present “Building a Database Monitoring Tool Using Splunk” during the DBTA Data Summit in New York on May 12-13, 2015.

Designed around a 5S model, Datavail’s Senior Applications Tuner Chuck Ezell will discuss how to build a database monitoring tool using Splunk. The 5S model is Ezell’s performance tuning model that incorporates monitoring SQL, Sessions, Scheduled Processes, Statistics and Space, providing a comprehensive monitoring platform for any database. The examples will be based on Oracle SQL, however they can easily be translated into DB2, SQL Server, MySQL or any other major database platform. The hands-on presentation will including downloading and installing a version of Splunk, creating an index, and getting data into Splunk through the use of input scripts. Datavail will also have a booth at the conference with experts available to answer questions on database administration management.
