MySQL 5.7 Features, Enhancements and Upgrade Path

In this presentation, we will provide an overview of MySQL, highlight the key new features of MySQL 5.7 and how to implement them in Production using the best practices. The topics include the changes in replication, InnoDB enhancements and some of the config changes from 5.6 to 5.7. We also focus on a few settings to improve MySQL security, dependencies to consider before upgrading to 5.7.

This session helps users to understand, plan, and leverage some of the performance enhancements include more efficient use of hardware, enhanced optimizer settings, faster temporary tables, additional performance_schema instruments etc.
