Datavail Presents Webinar on How to Use Splunk to Create a Database Monitoring Tool at No Cost

Presented by Chuck Ezell, Datavail’s performance tuning expert, the webinar will dive deeper than just downloading Splunk. The webinar will show attendees how to build a Database Monitoring Tool for free using both SQL scripts and shell scripts. The examples will be based on Oracle SQL, however they can easily be translated into DB2, SQL Server, MySQL or any other major database platform.

The presentation will describe how to segregate data by creating an index as well as how to get data into Splunk through the use of input scripts. Specific script examples will be shown for AIX, Linux and SQL reporting as examples of how to extract data for Splunk input. Lastly, Ezell will demonstrate how to create simple charts and add them to dashboards for monitoring.

Participants can expect to leave with a solid overview on how to build your own database monitoring tool using Splunk.
